Our Artist
Jeanne Sydell is the heart and soul of Sydell's© Riverplace Pottery. Her search for originality has inspired her to create an abundance of eclectic forms and styles, all while incorporating her skill in painting, sculpture and pottery.
Her continuous desire to create and direct attention to the values of beautiful, hand-formed art have been her passion for the past 30 years. She began selling her art in her country store in Paleface, which is now Pace Bend Park, near the Pedernales River in Spicewood Texas just ouside of Austin in the hill country back in the 1970's and 1980's. Today, still drawing inspriation upon the soul soothing water, she enjoys her days in her studio on the scenic Brazos River near West, Texas.
The desire to nurture and promote artists and art as a service to our culture drives her. Showing the beauty of all cultures and people while celebrating our amazing diversitites is what she believes speaks to our souls.
